Functionality

Receiving goods

This window is used to identify the items, quantities and, if applicable, units of measure and condition of the goods.

Input fields
Field Description
Location

The location where the goods receipt takes place is entered here. For example, the goods receipt can be entered as location "WE" or if several locations are possible WE1, WE2 etc.

Normally the location is marked with a barcode, which is scanned by the mobile terminal employee.

License

This input tells HESTIA WMS to which storage bin the received items and quantities will be posted before the actual putaway takes place.

The licence is a barcode on a pallet/container or on a trolley which is used to pick up the goods from the consignment before they are effectively put into storage.

HESTIA WMS supports two options for the use of the licence.

1. pre-printed licences are used In this case it is determined how many places are used and which standard container is used for the putaway, usually "pallet". The user takes a label from the roll, scans it and confirms the pre-selected standard container. See example below.

2. the licence is issued by HESTIA WMS, which means that the barcode is printed on the fly. In this case, the label, indicating the standard container, is printed and no longer needs to be scanned.

Example:
The settings in HESTIA WMS determine a certain length and the standard container of the licence code, e.g. 8-digit code and pallet.
Example: Barcode 44444444 and standard container pallet and button "OK".

When the license is entered, a check is made to see whether the machine already knows the license. If so, you can add more.

If the licence is unknown, the "Create new" function of a licence is automatically called up. If the length of the barcode does not correspond to the predefined format, an error message appears and the operator can explicitly confirm the use of the licence number.

Article ID

Identification of the article which is received. Normally the article label is scanned.

Quantity

In this field the quantity of received goods counted by the employee is entered. This is normally done using the keypad of the mobile terminal.

The expected quantity (ordered quantity) is not displayed. It is expected that at least one quantity check is carried out by the employees at the goods receipt.

After entering the quantity (a quantity check is carried out between the goods received and the goods ordered, with corresponding warnings), you can either continue with the Received Goods screen or complete the Goods Receipt screen.
